Collaborating with DCMS on a 5G Future

On the 25th of April, the Department of Digital, Culture, Media and Sports (DCMS) have shared their vision for a 5G future during the on boarding and collaboration event held at The Kia Oval, London. AWTG along with other industry partners attended the event focused on the 5G Testbeds and Trials Programmed. At this on boarding process the Minister for Digital and Creative Industries, Margot James, MP,  have outlined the DCMS vision for 5G in the UK.

**AWTG is part of the industry consortium that is pioneering there concept of Industry 4.0 through 5G together with Worcestershire County Council, 5GIC at University of Surrey,  Huawei, O2, BT, and Malvern Hills Science Park. Together with local businesses Worcester Bosch and Yamazaki Mazak, the consortium will focus on ways to increase industrial productivity through preventative and assisted maintenance using robotics, big data analytics and AR over 5G.

The aim of the 5G testbed and trials programme is to provide a revolutionary platform for local and national businesses to develop next-generation technology focused on improving the UK’s industrial productivity. Inline with the UK’s digital strategy to create a Britain fit for the future, AWTG is working with industry leaders to develop future business models for 5G.
